Freedom Fund

This event pays tribute to those who dedicate their time and energy in the vison and mission of the NAACP

Family & Friends
Day

Sponsored yearly by the Henry County NAACP to build relationships within the community.

Veterans Affairs

Seek to establish a working relationship with those agencies having the responsibility in the affairs of members of the armed services and veterans to see that the programs are administered fairly and justly to members of the minority community.

MLK Celebration

We hold an annual Martin Luther King Jr Prayer breakfast and Parade in honor of his legacy and keeping the spirit alive.

Religious Affairs

Include ministerial and lay religious leaders who are members of the NAACP.

Education

 Seek to eliminate segregation and other discriminatory practices in public education . . . study local education conditions affecting minority groups . . . keep informed of school conditions and strive to correct abuses where found.

Youth Council

Students are encouraged to join the youth council and take advantage of leadership opportunities.

Political Action

Seek to Increase voter registration and work for the enactment of legislation designed to improve educational , political, and economic status of minority groups.

Health & Housing

Work to promote, protect and maintain the health of African Americans, assess health needs of the community and advocate for equal access to health.

Women IN NAACP

Enhance leadership roles in women and serve as an advocate in the community.

Juneteenth

is sponsored annually to celebrate the commemoration of freedom for African Americans from slavery and to expose our youth to how slavery affected African Americans.

ACT SO

The Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological & Scientific Olympics is a year-long achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students

Freedom Fund
College Scholarship

The program awards an annual scholarship to a graduating senior in Henry County Schools in need of financial assistance to achieve their goal of a higher education. [Photo: 2016-2017 recipients.] Donations and scholarship sponsorships are welcome.
