
Accepting Applications for Excellence in the
Henry County Community
The Henry County NAACP Branch will award its 2026 Freedom Fund College Scholarships to graduating seniors in Henry County Public Schools. The award for tuition and fees will be sent to the Office of Student Financial Aid in August 2026 upon proof of enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited four-year, two-year college/university, or technical school. The nonrenewable scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement, awards/honors, extracurricular activities, community service, leadership, and activities. Recipient(s), nor their parent(s)/guardian(s), are required to be members of the NAACP Henry County Branch but are encouraged to join. Scholarship recipient(s) will be recognized at the Freedom Fund Event in June.
The scholarship application is available at www.henrycountyganaacp.com. The scholarship packet and supporting documents must be completed and emailed by May 23, 2026, to hcnaacpscholarships2024@gmail.com. Applications will be deemed ineligible if they do not comply with these guidelines. See the checklist below.
CHECKLIST, ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION CRITERIA

Complete 2026 Scholarship Application

Be a high school senior in Henry County Public Schools and live in Henry County

Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Submit an official copy of your latest official high school transcript

Have participated in academic enrichment, extracurricular, community service, or leadership activities

Submit a wallet-sized graduation photo (no proofs)

Submit one letter of recommendation on letterhead (guidance counselor, teacher, administrator, coach, or community leader/sponsor)

Participate in a panel interview

Attend the Freedom Fund Scholarship Event in June
INTERVIEW
Once the completed application packet is reviewed, potential recipients are required to participate in a panel interview. The interview will assess your delivery – overall appearance, composure, eye contact, body language, and ability to communicate. The dress code is business attire.
